About French Learning Apps
French Learning Apps is a plain directory of the apps, courses and websites people use to learn French, with what each one costs, who it suits and what it does not do.

Who runs it
French Learning Apps is an independent guide run by French with Amélie, a French teacher in Paris. We list apps that compete with us.
Entries are written in plain English for adult learners. Each one says who the app suits and, just as plainly, what it does not do.
How we rank
We rank apps by who they genuinely suit, what they cost, and how much they help with the skill learners neglect most: understanding real spoken French. Every price and fact was checked on the product's own site or app store listing on the date shown; where a price is not shown publicly we say "see site". Nobody pays to be listed or ranked, and there are no affiliate links.
Rankings are per page: the best app for listening is rarely the best for grammar. On the main list our picks come first, then everything else from A to Z.
How facts are checked
Each entry shows the date it was last checked. Prices, levels and platforms come from the product's own website or app store listing on that date. Levels are our reading of what the maker says, or our own assessment where they say nothing. If a price is not shown publicly, we write "see site" rather than guess. We never invent ratings.
Disclosure
French with Amélie, which runs this site, makes a French listening newsletter and a free level test. They are listed (French with Amélie and French with Amélie listening test) and marked "Runs this site" wherever they appear. The boxes offering a free listening test link to French with Amélie's test. No other app has paid to be listed, and there are no affiliate links.
