How to cancel Duolingo Super

You cancel Duolingo Super where you bought it: in your Apple ID subscriptions on an iPhone, in Google Play subscriptions on Android, or in your Duolingo account settings if you paid on the web. Deleting the app does not cancel anything, and your free French course stays exactly where you left it.

On iPhone or iPad

Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Choose Duolingo and tap Cancel Subscription. Apple renews subscriptions automatically unless you turn them off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, so do it a day early. If you were charged by mistake, you can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

On Android

Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Choose Duolingo and tap Cancel subscription. As on iPhone, uninstalling the app leaves the subscription running.

On the web

If you subscribed on duolingo.com, sign in on the website, open Settings and look for the Super or subscription section to cancel. If you cannot find Duolingo in your Apple or Google subscriptions, this is usually where it was bought.

What happens afterwards

You keep Super until the end of the period you paid for. After that your account returns to the free plan: same French course, same progress and streak, with ads and the hearts or energy limit back. Nothing in the course is lost, because nothing in it was locked.
